Mission & Ethos

Our Mission Statement

St. Patrick’s Loreto Primary School seeks to foster a welcoming environment in which the dignity of every child will be valued, respected and equally cherished.
Our aim is the pursuit of excellence through a holistic education based on Gospel values. We strive to develop children’s self-esteem and to motivate them to achieve their full potential in a spirit of friendship and belonging.

School Ethos and Culture

St. Patrick’s is a Catholic primary school which is under the patronage of the Archbishop of the Dublin diocese. Our particular school ethos derives from the values and philosophy underpinning the Loreto education tradition. Those values and that philosophy were the vision of the foundress of the Loreto order, Mary Ward, who opened her first school in 1609. The Loreto sisters have been providing primary education to the children of Bray since the 1850’s. Click for more information on Loreto

As Catholic educators, our aim is to collaborate with the parents of our students in providing learning experiences which will afford those children the opportunity of developing fully, intellectually, socially, physically, morally and spiritually.
