On Friday 5th October 2012 it was Jersey Day. In St. Patrick’s we participate in Jersey Day every year. It raises money to help people in third world countries. Everyone is allowed to wear their favourite jersey instead of their uniform. We all bring in 1 or 2 euro and all the money that’s raised goes to Goal, the charity who organise it.
Goal uses the money to help those in Kolkata, India and in many parts of Africa. Goalies (missionaries) go there and build houses, wells, schools and much more. Every year they save hundreds of lives. This year St. Patrick’s alone raised €1068.37.
Jersey Day is a very enjoyable day and everyone looks forward to it.
