Parents as Partners

Parents as Partners

The school welcomes and values parents/guardians as partners in education. It encourages active participation in your child’s education and seeks to promote ways in which you can become meaningfully and appropriately involved in the life of the school. The school further recognises your right to be consulted and informed on all aspects of your child’s educational and social development.
To that end, the school

  • Holds meetings for the parents of Junior Infant children prior to the children’s entry to school
  • Facilitates formal parent/teacher meetings for all classes
  • Sends a written report to all parents at the end of the school year to update on progress and development
  • Communicates with parents by means of regular letters, texts or newsletters, as appropriate
  • Consults with parents with regard to relevant policy formation
  • Involves parents in particular activities such as paired reading schemes, games and the administration of the school’s library
