There was great excitement at St Patrick’s National School in Bray last Friday for the opening of a new building as part of the school.
Minister for Health Simon Harris was on hand for the official opening of the new facility, named the ‘Sr Eileen Randles building’.
The new building accommodates additional mainstream classes as well as acting as an SEN hub.
The new facility includes six support rooms.
Fr. Enda Lloyd carried out a blessing as the new building starts taking in students.
Minister Harris congratulated St. Patrick’s on the new addition, and unveiled a plaque to mark the happy occasion.
Principal Brian O’Doherty welcomed Minister Harris and other visitors to St. Patrick’s for the event.
Chair of the Parents’ Association, Louise Lyons as well as Chair of the Board, Robert Dunne were also there to mark the opening.
Sr. Elizabeth Cotter of the Loreto Order was also there for the event, as was past principal Sr. Denise Harvey. Contractor Michael McGonigle and architect Diarmuid O’Sullivan completed the project.
